The Comparative Humanities and Applied Language Studies Laboratory (CHALS), based at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities, is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of the Doctoral Students Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences (DSC 2025) to be held on April 28-29, 2025. This event offers a valuable opportunity for doctoral students to present their work-in-progress, engage in scholarly discussions, and receive constructive feedback from fellow researchers and experienced academics.
Conference Scope and Objectives
This conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among researchers in Morocco. The conference aims to accommodate a broad range of research areas, welcoming submissions from PhD students working in:
- Language and Linguistics
- Education and Pedagogy
- Artificial Intelligence and Education
- Translation Studies
- Literary Studies and Comparative Literature
- Cultural Studies
- Media and Communication
Presentation Guidelines
We invite doctoral students to submit abstracts of their research in progress, highlighting their methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and preliminary findings, focusing on the following aspects:
- Significance of the research: How does the study contribute to existing scholarship? What is its added value in the field?
- Thesis statement: What is the main research problem? What key questions does the study seek to address?
- Methodological framework: What theoretical and methodological approaches are adopted? What are their scopes and limitations?
- Current achievements: What progress has been made? What preliminary findings or insights have emerged?
- Future directions: What remains to be accomplished? What challenges have been encountered, and what prospects does the research open?
Workshops for Doctoral students on academic research and Teacher Training
In addition to paper presentations, the conference will feature training workshops that will be given to enhance the research training of PhD students. These workshops are designed to enhance the academic research skills of doctoral candidates and provide practical guidance for conducting high-quality research. These workshops will cover key aspects of academic research and teacher training. The titles of the workshops will be announced soon.
Submission Guidelines
Interested participants should submit an abstract (250-300 words) outlining their research focus, along with a short bio, to doctoralstudentsconference@gmail.com by April 13, 2025.
